What to Expect Next from Nikon ? (August 2019)

This is August version of “What to expect next from Nikon ?” Currently, there are a total of 6 new Nikon camera codes got registered, this means there will be at least 6 new Nikon cameras coming in 2019 to 2020. Update: Nikon D6 (Development Announcement ?) and a new Z-mount lens NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 S Lens is expected to be announced on September 4th.

Rumored Nikon cameras:

  • Nikon D760: The successor of Nikon D750 DSLR camera, to be announced in early 2020
  • Nikon D6: The successor of Nikon D5 DSLR camera, to be announced on September 4th, Rumored Specs: 24MP, 4K@60p, Built-in Sensor Stabilization, Dual CF Express Card Slots, Built-in Wi-Fi.
  • Nikon Z-mount Mirrorless Version Nikon D5/D6: Coming in 2020 or 2021
  • Nikon Z3: Rumored to be announced in 2020, an entry-level DX mirrorless camera with fix LCD screen, 24 or 26 MP sensor, one micro SD card slot only, probably no EVF, very compact.
  • Nikon Z5: Rumored to be announced in 2019, 30-32 MP APS-C sensor, similar body to the Z6, dual card slot (XQD and micro SD)
  • Nikon Z8: A new high megapixel full frame mirrorless camera, could use Sony a7R IV‘s 61MP full frame sensor.
  • Nikon Z9: Development announcement could be as early as in this fall. High-end Z-mount full frame mirrorless camera, dual card slots.
  • Nikon D7600: Rumored to be announced in the second half of 2019.
  • Nikon D860/D900: Rumored to be announced in 2020-2021, could also feature with Sony a7R IV‘s 61MP full frame sensor.
