Update: Nikon Denies Halting F-Mount Production According to Nikon Spokesperson
Yesterday we posted that a rumor that Nikon has ended production on all F-mount cameras and lenses. The claim caused distress among Nikon F-mount loyalists who worried they soon wouldn’t be able to obtain their favored gear.
However, Nikon Imaging Japan has refuted the rumor. A company spokesperson stated “Production, sales, and support for F-mount products will continue as usual, so please continue to use our products with confidence.”

Nikon has made the decision to stop production on all remaining Nikon F-mount cameras and lenses, according to a recent report. The Nikon F-mount, Nikon’s long-running lens mount system, has been a staple of Nikon cameras since 1959. However, with Nikon’s focus shifting more towards mirrorless camera systems like the Nikon Z mount in recent years, it appears production on Nikon F-mount products has ceased.

Nikon to Announce Two New Mirrorless Cameras Soon (Z6 III and Z7 III ?)
According to NR, during last April, a new Nikon camera is shown on several European websites. A month later, the Nikon Z8 was announced. Now, something similar is happening again.
The mirrorless section of the Nikon Germany website currently lists 9 existing mirrorless camera models. However, the total number of cameras displayed at the top and bottom of the page is 11. This suggests placeholders for two unannounced new mirrorless cameras are already in place.
